Singapore Day3

“Jungle jungle baat chali hai pata chala hai, are chaddi pehenke phool khila hai, phool khila hai”.

To hum humare dono phool ko leke pahooch hi gaye Singapore ke jungle me!

So Singapore Day3 was for the Singapore zoo and Merlion Park with dinner at the bay side boat quay’s restaurant.

Singapore zoo

We, animal lovers, were ready for the wild adventure with over 2,800 animals inhabiting the lush tropical rainforest. I call it a jungle instead of a zoo because the animals here are not caged. You can see them roaming in their natural habitat, especially the Orangutans. You can see them jumping from one tree branch to another, playing, making those funny noises, flipping and turning upside down. They are very fascinating.

Singpore Day 3

There is a tram roaming inside the zoo to travel from one zone to another. In the beginning, we took a tour of the zoo on that tram, to know what all is there to see, and accordingly, we explored further. It was fun to ride in that open tram with jungle music playing and the view of animals on the way.

My son’s video of the Singapore zoo

From giraffes, kangaroos, orangutans, elephants, lions, sea-lions, tigers and koalas to zebras, rhinos, hippopotamus, chimpanzees, ostrich, and peacocks, there are lots of varieties of animals to meet in the zoo.

The zoo arranges many different kinds of shows and tours like the splash safari, animal friends show, etc. where we get a chance to see and interact with animals. During the splash safari, it was fun for my family to sit in front, and get wet by the splash done by the sea lion. Its show was also fun to watch.

Tips:

  • Don’t rent a pram here. There is a tram moving inside the zoo, which stops at each zone every 15 mins. You can roam in that tram within the zoo unlimited times.
  • If you want to feed the animals, the booking is to be done one month prior to your visit.
  • Keep track of the timings of the shows going on or else you will miss them.
  • Reach the Rainforest zone 15 mins prior to the show, so that you get the front seats.

Merlion Park

After the zoo, we headed to Merlion Park in the evening. We were lucky to experience the fireworks on the bay that evening, as Singapore’s 50th birthday celebration practice was going on. The lighting, sound show and fireworks view in front of the iconic Merlion Statue and the front view of The Marina Bay Sands were mesmerizing. The weather was so good that day and the crowd gathered to see the view added fun to the place.

Roaming around the boat quay and then having dinner at Tandoori Zayka on the bay side after a tiring day was calm and soothing.

Sometimes it feels like pouring my heart out. What better than writing blogs. My son started writing blogs. I too found it interesting, and followed the suit. Hope you enjoy reading my blogs.
