Our third day in Bali was a delightful blend of nature’s mischievous charm at the Sacred Monkey Forest and an enchanting night safari at the Bali Safari and Marine Park. From playful monkeys to dinner with lions and a fire tribal show, the day was a mosaic of unforgettable experiences.
The Sacred Monkey Forest:
After enjoying our private pool and exploring the villa more, we set off with a visit to the Sacred Monkey Forest. As we strolled through the lush surroundings, monkeys entertained us with their antics, swinging from trees and playfully interacting with visitors. This place was a bit boring though, isse jyada monkeys to mere gav me dikh jaate hai, aur jyada khurapaati bhi.
Bali Safari and Marine Park:
Unlike the daytime zoo visit to zoo like in our last 2 tours, this time we opted to go for a night safari at Bali Safari and Marine Park. It was a complete package, commencing with a warm welcome featuring refreshing drinks and photography with parrots on the hands. The guided safari walk through the park revealed the enchanting world of wildlife, including a mini replica of India’s Ranthambore Park, where the majestic white tiger had its roots. Dinner with lions, feeding animals in a cage, and a thrilling fire tribal show added layers to the night.
Dinner Among Lions:
We had dinner in the park’s restaurant, surrounded by glass walls that allowed us to dine with a view of majestic lions. The buffet had lots of vegetarian options for us and the kids. With the delicious food, the ambience was surreal, heightened by the soulful tunes of a live band playing one of my favourite songs, “Hotel California.”
Animal Feeding and Close Encounters:
Post-dinner, we entered the heart of the park for an exhilarating animal-feeding experience. Inside a cage, we handed out carrots to zebras, rhinos, camels, and elephants, creating memories that delighted both kids and adults alike. The carnivorous animals were fed by the staff, and watching a tiger claim its meal left us in awe. A slight surprise awaited us as water dripped on us – a wet-footed tiger climbed the cage for the meat, leaving us with an eww feeling that, it was the tiger’s pee.
The staff added a humorous touch to the feeding, especially with the memorable line, “No more carrots for you, Mr Zebra, and byeee.” It’s a line that we still use in our jokes.
Mesmerizing Fire Tribal Show:
The night concluded with a spectacular fire tribal show within the park. The rhythmic dance of flames, accompanied by tribal beats, created an enchanting atmosphere. It was a mesmerizing performance that added a touch of magic to our Bali adventure.
Tips of the day:
- Instead of Monkey Forest opt for Bali Zoo or some waterfall or a temple.
- Can try sunrise and trek at Mount Batur. We could not go, as we were with kids.
Day 3 in Bali showcased the diverse facets of the island’s wildlife, from mischievous monkeys to thrilling night safaris and captivating fire shows.
