An unfinished argument with a friend!

It all started, when my brother in law was tested positive for Corona. He consulted this doctor. She asked him to get some blood tests done and insisted to get them done in her clinic only.

The next day, in the report, the value of some components came very high above normal. The doctor said, he has got Pneumonia in his lungs due to the high rate of that value and should be admitted as soon as possible, lots of heavy injections are to be given, and to be admitted in her hospital ward only.

We all were scared to nerves. First of all Corona, itself makes one tensed, and that too severe Corona with so many injections and admitting to the hospital was scary. But don’t know what clicked my father in law, that he thought of getting blood tests done once again from other pathology. To our surprise, the reports were normal. The value was just 8. We changed the doctor right away and bhaiya was cured soon at home only, without any injections.

Sometime later, someone posted about that doctor being a fraud. I thought, no one in my contacts should be a victim of her fraud, so I forwarded that in all my WhatsApp groups. But it turned out wrong. That doctor being socially famous, many people started bombarding me for posting it, saying, Doctors are God, and no one should post anything negative about them, especially in this pandemic time, when they are serving the nation, without bothering about their family.

One of my friends took it very personally. These were her words, “She is not fraud… At least woh covid patients ko dhekh rahi h… kuch doctors toh darr k maare ghar se bahar b nhi nikal rahe h. Plzzz no negative news for any doctors. Mostly doctors aisa karte h jinka jaha commission hota h wahi bhejhte h… usme kuch galat nhi h.Yaar woh life ko risk mai daal raha h toh woh apni family k baare mai b toh sochega… uske baad uski family ka kya??? Patients ko treat karte karte kuch ho gaya toh uski family k baare mai kaunsa Patient sochega. Aadi raat ko call karo doctor apni duty samjh k nind kharab kar k apne baccho ko akela chodh k aaraha h woh q nhi dhikh raha h.Neta log kya kam corruption karte hai.”

First of all, I honestly respect the profession of a doctor. I agree they sacrifice a lot for their patients. But this is not what they did not know when they selected doctor as their profession. It’s their job and they are prepared for it. Being a doctor does not give them a license to do fraud. Corruption or fraud is wrong, whoever does it, let it be a doctor, some Neta, soldier, or any social worker. During this difficult time of the pandemic, where so much fear and negativity is spread, some kindness and sincerity are expected especially from doctors. And lots of doctors are doing a good job. I do appreciate them. But if some doctor is doing fraud, and I m raising my finger against them, am I wrong?

My friends boycotted me for doing this. Did not pick my call, when I wanted to talk to them. Said bad about me, saying that I always argue. She even said this, “Usne thodi tujhe bola, uske clinic aane ke liye. Better next time government hospital mai jaana waha free mai treatment ho jaayega.”  Ended up saying, “Bhais ke aage bin bajane se kya fayada”. This was so hurting. How can anyone be so money minded? Only because I argued with them, to keep up my point. Do you also think I m wrong? Because still, my argument left unfinished…

Sometimes it feels like pouring my heart out. What better than writing blogs. My son started writing blogs. I too found it interesting, and followed the suit. Hope you enjoy reading my blogs.
