1st August 2023, Calling all the gamers! So excited to share the gaming-themed birthday party I styled for my son, Viraj! He loves playing video games, so this theme perfectly fit his 6th birthday. Step into the digital realm, where pixels and joy collide!
Keeping the video game theme in mind, I chose the green-black theme for the decoration. Pixelated posters of Viraj’s favourite video games adorned the walls. The table was decorated with gaming-related props, “Game On” and “Level Up” signboards, a Happy Birthday poster, gaming remote cutouts and dummies and the return gifts were handmade personalized bags having a game and gold coin-like Cadburies to go with the theme.
The food table boasted cake pops shaped like controllers, ice cream bites that looked like classic arcade tokens, and a feast of pasta, nachos, and chola bhatura that fueled our young gamers for the adventures ahead. A theme-based cake with a remote on its top went perfectly with the theme.
Gaming Challenges: The party’s highlight was the gaming challenges that had kids racing with excitement. The spotlight shone on my handcrafted creation: DADISH’s fearsome Monster Super Radish. (One of the monsters from Viraj’s fav game, Dadish). My son, Ishaan held this monstrous prop as other kids dared to pass through the door it guarded. It was the ultimate test, the final stage that followed two other thrilling challenges. The cheers and determination as kids tackled these stages were proof of their gaming spirits.
Virtual Adventure with Mario: Our next adventure took us to the Mushroom Kingdom as we embarked on a virtual journey with Mario. With YouTube as our guide, kids watched Super Mario videos that felt like they were playing the game themselves. They mimicked Mario’s moves, traversed tricky levels, and faced the challenges head-on. It was a joy to see them immersed in the gameplay, their laughter echoing every time they overcame an obstacle.
Also in the early hours, we gifted Viraj a magical awakening by bringing his favourite book character, MR. Birthday, to life from MR. Men book series. As he opened his eyes, he discovered a special message in the book, granting his wish for MR. Birthday to celebrate his birthday. His brother transformed into MR. Birthday, and with a Dairy Milk cake in hand, we made his wish come true. This enchanting surprise made him believe that a wish shared with the heart can become a cherished reality.
As the day drew to a close, we knew we had created a memory to cherish. The smiles on the kids’ faces, the energy of the games, and the friendship formed through shared adventures – it was all a celebration of the gaming world’s magic. The video gaming-themed party proved that with a bit of imagination and a lot of fun, pixels can transform into memories that last a lifetime.
