Singapore, the happiest place in Asia!

Singapore is “the Green City” in its true sense.  With healthy, fresh, smiling and welcoming trees and shrubbery all over the country trimmed and maintained so nicely, we feel as if we are in heavenly gardens, in any part of the country. Along with this, the cleanliness and discipline maintained throughout make Singapore the most beautiful place on Earth.

My bestie Ambreen and her family Quaid bhaiya, Banu and Burhan accompanied us on the tour. Tours with friends are always fun, and our kids being of the same age made it more fun.

Where we stayed :

• Grand Mercure Roxy: A good hotel to spend just nights and get ready in the morning. As we spent the whole day roaming around Singapore. Breakfast was very bad here for vegetarians.
• Shangrila’s Rasa Sentosa Resort and Spa: Amazing luxurious, beautiful, full of fun and adventurous Resort ever. Highly recommended, 10-star rated personally. Read more about it in my Day 4 blog.

Where did we eat :

• Anand Bhawan(Little India): The food was so-so, kha sakte ho types. The ambience was not good. Had dosa here.
• Butter n Spice(Behind Grand Mercure Hotel, 66 East Coast Road): They offered the Yummiliest food. Itna tasty garlic naan, palak paneer, daal tadka aur fried rice to humne India me bhi Nahi khaya.
• Tandoori Zaika(70 Boat Quay): Riverside dinner after a tiring day was good. The ambience is also good at boat quay. The food was good not very tasty like butter n spice.
• Trapizza (Sentosa Island,10 Siloso Beach Walk): Beachside Italian Pizza was tasty. 5 stars for both taste and ambience.
• Shangrila in Room Dinner: The best room Dinner of a hotel we ever had. The presentation was so good. They bought the served plates in an oven attached to the dinner table. We can just take it out anytime we want to eat and have a yummy hot dinner. The panner makhni with biryani was a superb combination.
• McDonald’s (Resort World, Sentosa): Lucky we got a veg burger option here. Fries and dessert to ache hai hi inke.

How did we travel within:

• We preferred travelling by taxi. You can opt for public transport which would be cheaper. But with kids and also we already need to walk so much for the travel destinations, that we thought taxi would be convenient. Also, it was very easy to book taxis through apps like “tada, grab, gojack”. The taxis were luxurious and the roads were so good, it was a very nice experience travelling in those taxis.
• Within Sentosa Island travelling was free. We were lucky, it was Singapore’s 50th-anniversary celebration going on at that time. Buses were available every 15 mins to travel anywhere on the island. The shuttle buses moving slowly, along the beachside was another beautiful experience.

Phone sim, Mobile data and Currency exchange: We got international data roaming on one of our numbers. We took 2 Singapore sims along with 100 GB of mobile data for 7 days at the airport. Some currency we got exchanged at the airport, some at Little India, some at East Coast Road.

Singapore is a must-visit travel destination & trust me you will never regret adding it to your travel bucket list! It was so hard to say Good Bye to Singapore, especially Sentosa Island. After retirement, I wish to buy the Shangrila Resort and spent the rest of my life with my husband there.
